The Fall 2020 round of [community profile] seasonal_spuffy will run from Monday, November 2, through Sunday, November 29, on LiveJournal and right here on Dreamwidth.

The theme for this round is Fairy Tales Retold. Thank you to whoever suggested revisiting the fairytale theme! (I lost track of who it was, so if it's you, you should feel good about yourself and also feel free to let me know!) As always, the theme exists to inspire, not to limit: participants are free to interpret the theme however they wish or do their own thing instead.

This round will mark the 15th anniversary of the community! Wow. We have a couple of special celebratory activities in store. By popular demand, there will be a prompt post where people can leave prompts in comments before the round (to be used for entries during the round), AND we will encourage artists to add plot bunnies to their art posts during the round. We are also going to take a trip down memory lane that will touch on the history of the comm; this and the prompt post will start happening in the nearest weeks, and there's going to be more information when it does, so keep your eyes peeled!

Anyone is free to participate in any of these additional anniversary shenanigans or all of them, or none of them. For those of us who just want a nice, comfortably familiar round of Seasonal Spuffy, good news! The central part of the event goes as usual...

...You may SIGN UP for a posting day over on the LiveJournal side of the comm by choosing a day in the schedule and leaving a comment on the linked post (LiveJournal login not necessary for signup nor for participation). Posting days are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis, but days can be shared once enough people sign up.

We're also offering some free-for-all days: November 3, November 14, November 26, and November 28–29. On the free-for-all days, anybody may post without signup, as long as they do it the Seasonal Spuffy way.

Plan to create an original, never-before-posted Spike/Buffy fanwork to share with the community! We never met a format we didn't like: fic, drabbles, drawings, playlists, poetry, manips, mood boards, wallpapers, WIP chapters, artwork resources, icons, comics, dioramas, customized dolls, crossovers, fanvids, maps, games, polls, podfic, Other Art... you get the picture. :) It's all welcome. For the few formats of fanworks that are impossible to get into a LiveJournal/Dreamwidth post, posting a link is fine.

For this round and this round only, all-human AUs will be allowed as long as they are clearly labeled and posted on a free-for-all day. All-penguin AUs are enthusiastically welcomed any day.

Any questions, please always feel free to ask—for example, by commenting on a recent mod post such as this one or emailing sspuffy@gmail.com.

We can't wait to see what you'll create! May the tale of Buffy and Spike go on like all the other great tales of old, taking on new forms and new meanings in the retelling.

The Spring 2020 round will run from Sunday, May 10, through Monday, May 25, on LiveJournal and here on Dreamwidth.

The theme for this round is Enemies With Benefits. As always, the theme exists to inspire, not to limit: creators are free to interpret the theme however they wish or do their own thing instead. We welcome original, never-before-posted Spike/Buffy fanworks of any format: fic, art, and beyond.

You may sign up for a posting day by leaving a comment on the SIGNUP POST on LiveJournal. (LJ login is not necessary for that.)

We're also offering some free-for-all days: May 10, May 24, and May 25. On those days, anybody may post without signup.

See our rules in the comm profile, and always feel free to talk to the mods if you have any questions: for example, you can comment on a recent mod post such as this one or email sspuffy@gmail.com.

Have fun, all! Let's make some Spuffy stuff! :)

Get ready, one and all, for the Fall 2019 round of Seasonal Spuffy: Love Letters (to Something Blue)! This hootenanny of fresh Spuffy fanworks will run from Monday, November 11, through Sunday, December 1, on LiveJournal  and right here on Dreamwidth.

Love Letters is the official winner of the theme poll (thanks for the suggestion, @passion4spike!), so participants may use this theme for inspiration and interpret it any way they like. HOWEVER, lots of votes were split between various "Something Blue"-based themes, so if you feel moved to make your entry a love letter to Something Blue specifically (no matter how you wish to interpret the episode or its title), this is also absolutely fine and welcomed. As always, the themes are here to inspire, not to restrict: if your muse already has inspiration covered and you don't need a theme, feel free to do your own thing!

You may sign up for a posting day by leaving a comment on the signup post on LiveJournal. (Login is not necessary; if you don't see the comment button, keep scrolling.) Posting days are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but days can be shared once enough people sign up, and more days miiight be added.

We're also offering some free-for-all days: November 11, November 28-30, and December 1. On the free-for-all days, anybody may post without signup, as long as they do it the Seasonal Spuffy way.

Plan to create an original, never-before-posted Spike/Buffy fanwork to share with the community! :) We never met a format we didn't like: all kinds of fic, art, and other fanworks are welcome. WIPs are okay, and so are crossovers. For the few formats of fanworks that are impossible to get into a LiveJournal/Dreamwidth post, posting a link is fine.

Please check the rules before you begin. Most are fairly standard, but be aware we don't accept all-human AUs. All-penguin AUs, however, are enthusiastically welcomed.

Any questions, please always feel free to ask—for example, by commenting on a recent mod post such as this one or emailing sspuffy@gmail.com.

Have fun, everyone! \o/
