The Fall 2020 round of
seasonal_spuffy will run from Monday, November 2, through Sunday, November 29, on LiveJournal and right here on Dreamwidth.
The theme for this round is Fairy Tales Retold. Thank you to whoever suggested revisiting the fairytale theme! (I lost track of who it was, so if it's you, you should feel good about yourself and also feel free to let me know!) As always, the theme exists to inspire, not to limit: participants are free to interpret the theme however they wish or do their own thing instead.
This round will mark the 15th anniversary of the community! Wow. We have a couple of special celebratory activities in store. By popular demand, there will be a prompt post where people can leave prompts in comments before the round (to be used for entries during the round), AND we will encourage artists to add plot bunnies to their art posts during the round. We are also going to take a trip down memory lane that will touch on the history of the comm; this and the prompt post will start happening in the nearest weeks, and there's going to be more information when it does, so keep your eyes peeled!
Anyone is free to participate in any of these additional anniversary shenanigans or all of them, or none of them. For those of us who just want a nice, comfortably familiar round of Seasonal Spuffy, good news! The central part of the event goes as usual...
...You may SIGN UP for a posting day over on the LiveJournal side of the comm by choosing a day in the schedule and leaving a comment on the linked post (LiveJournal login not necessary for signup nor for participation). Posting days are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis, but days can be shared once enough people sign up.
We're also offering some free-for-all days: November 3, November 14, November 26, and November 28–29. On the free-for-all days, anybody may post without signup, as long as they do it the Seasonal Spuffy way.
Plan to create an original, never-before-posted Spike/Buffy fanwork to share with the community! We never met a format we didn't like: fic, drabbles, drawings, playlists, poetry, manips, mood boards, wallpapers, WIP chapters, artwork resources, icons, comics, dioramas, customized dolls, crossovers, fanvids, maps, games, polls, podfic, Other Art... you get the picture. :) It's all welcome. For the few formats of fanworks that are impossible to get into a LiveJournal/Dreamwidth post, posting a link is fine.
For this round and this round only, all-human AUs will be allowed as long as they are clearly labeled and posted on a free-for-all day. All-penguin AUs are enthusiastically welcomed any day.
Any questions, please always feel free to ask—for example, by commenting on a recent mod post such as this one or emailing sspuffy@gmail.com.
We can't wait to see what you'll create! May the tale of Buffy and Spike go on like all the other great tales of old, taking on new forms and new meanings in the retelling.
