LAST POST FOR MY DAY I SWEAR!

title: It's Raining Here
author/creator: [livejournal.com profile] nvrbnkisst
description: Buffy POV vid. this was kind of a difficult video for me to make because the music is so different, but the piano part just spoke spuffy to me. I think it's not said spoken about it enough, the fact that Buffy aggressively defends Spike in season seven to everyone around her.
Buffy tries to close Spike out, but she always finds herself back in the dark with him while in return she shows him the light.
This is also the second time I've mashed up BtVS to a song by Great Northern (epic band is epic)

I hope you guys enjoy my contribution to this wonderful community!
And thanks to everyone who works so hard to keep it going!

I think this is my favorite of the three - because of the narrative and the fabulous use of voiceovers, of course, but what I really love is the editing you used - showing one kiss, one frame of their hands, then cutting away to another similar kiss or frame of hands. It helped tell Buffy's story. Then there was the use of light, and nothing gets to me like how you used light here - to connect scenes, tell the story, and show point of view.

There's definitely something to be said for the use of instrumental music for a Spike/Buffy vid, because the piano section is lovely, and the voiceovers give the sense of conflicted feelings Buffy has for Spike. I adored that cloud of voiceovers!

Then there's the use of black and white to connect the action to the music, and the melancholy music itself. You've totally turned me on to Great Northern!

Then there's the incoherent babbling portion of this comment, where I just want to bask in the relationship as you portrayed it. And the middle part! Never disregard the middle part, where Buffy's thinking through season 6 and relating it to season 7 and how their relationship has changed!!! This is where I could just get CAPSLOCKY with the joy of this vid! It's not exactly a happy vid, because Buffy doesn't ever have a chance to allow herself to be happy, but it gives me warm, snuggly feelings to see her and Spike defending each other so hard and relating to each other on such a high level! It's the same sense of relating to one and other on a deeper level that made issue #40 of the comic so enjoyable - they get each other so well, and they know exactly what the other needs to hear. And you show that here!
