LAST POST FOR MY DAY I SWEAR!

title: It's Raining Here
author/creator: [livejournal.com profile] nvrbnkisst
description: Buffy POV vid. this was kind of a difficult video for me to make because the music is so different, but the piano part just spoke spuffy to me. I think it's not said spoken about it enough, the fact that Buffy aggressively defends Spike in season seven to everyone around her.
Buffy tries to close Spike out, but she always finds herself back in the dark with him while in return she shows him the light.
This is also the second time I've mashed up BtVS to a song by Great Northern (epic band is epic)

I want to thank Jamie for being my vid beta for this video. LOVE YOU!
I hope you guys enjoy my contribution to this wonderful community!
And thanks to everyone who works so hard to keep it going!

Oh damn. You're just twisting my heart. I'm choked up and incoherent.

This is just... essential. It is so essential, I can't explain how wonderful this is. Thank you. I love you. Vids from you always and forever.

I was watching this and I could feel Buffy. Even before I really understood the narrative. It's just so her and I love her and I can tell you love her and the way you show how she sees Spike...

her love for him is there, and it's deep, but it's quiet, not so in your face, and this song with the buildup and the slow down and the slow melodies followed by loud unexpected drums really parallels how Buffy feels about Spike in my opinion, a lot of the time it's in the background and it's quietness and lingering looks, and other times it's this unexpected burst of emotion she can't hold in anymore.

Okay, yeah, just keep talking. You're making me want to collapse into this puddle of tears, sobbing, "They have a beautiful love! A miraculous love!"

Oh Buffy. ♥

Yeah... what Emmie said.

This is beautiful. I love everything about it. But I might love the part with the voiceover most of all. That is just beautiful. And I wish I could say how much I love the part where Spike defends Buffy (and subsequently beats up Faith), but there are no words. I love it because it's him defending her like she's been defending him that whole season. So, for me, it shows how deep their understanding of each other is. And you included it!

Beautiful. ♥

YES THE VOICEOVERS YES YES OMG

AND THE LIGHTING

SHE GOES INTO THE DARK TO BE WITH HIM, THEN WHEN SHE MUST RETURN TO THE LIGHT, HE FOLLOWS

*INCOHERENT FLAILING*

I wish I could say how much I love the part where Spike defends Buffy (and subsequently beats up Faith), but there are no words. I love it because it's him defending her like she's been defending him that whole season. So, for me, it shows how deep their understanding of each other is.

I LOVE IT TOO. And Faith doesn't even really deserve it, but I love what it shows about Spike. I've written fic in my head where he tears into Giles even harder and just really twists the knife.

The difference to me between what the Scoobies did and what Spike does, is that Spike would've told Buffy off to her face, but he never would've let her walk off alone where she didn't have anyone guarding her back. I think Spike understands how close she is to death every second, every day, and how close she comes to falling in battle. I think that's why he's so focused on watching her back.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Ok I'm starting at the end of your posts and working my way back. So. Dessert first.

FAVORITE VID. The cacophany of voices arguing whether or not these hands should clasp - and they find each other and hold, heedless of the noise. Finding those moments of connection. GAH. So perfect.

I love you, Boo. Fantastic, beautiful vision of Buffy and Spike.

I think this is my favorite of the three - because of the narrative and the fabulous use of voiceovers, of course, but what I really love is the editing you used - showing one kiss, one frame of their hands, then cutting away to another similar kiss or frame of hands. It helped tell Buffy's story. Then there was the use of light, and nothing gets to me like how you used light here - to connect scenes, tell the story, and show point of view.

There's definitely something to be said for the use of instrumental music for a Spike/Buffy vid, because the piano section is lovely, and the voiceovers give the sense of conflicted feelings Buffy has for Spike. I adored that cloud of voiceovers!

Then there's the use of black and white to connect the action to the music, and the melancholy music itself. You've totally turned me on to Great Northern!

Then there's the incoherent babbling portion of this comment, where I just want to bask in the relationship as you portrayed it. And the middle part! Never disregard the middle part, where Buffy's thinking through season 6 and relating it to season 7 and how their relationship has changed!!! This is where I could just get CAPSLOCKY with the joy of this vid! It's not exactly a happy vid, because Buffy doesn't ever have a chance to allow herself to be happy, but it gives me warm, snuggly feelings to see her and Spike defending each other so hard and relating to each other on such a high level! It's the same sense of relating to one and other on a deeper level that made issue #40 of the comic so enjoyable - they get each other so well, and they know exactly what the other needs to hear. And you show that here!

I'M BACK.

The voicesovers are just so spectacular. I have to say. But the brilliance of that moment is the voices pushing, pushing, pushing at Buffy to pull away from Spike and then the lyrics follow:

The door is locked now. No one else can see.

Because their love is private. Buffy's dark place. It's only for them. For her and Spike.

Every time I listen to those lyrics right after the voiceover, it brings tears to my eyes. That is so so so Buffy.

That moment in the vid is like this explosion of emotion in my chest. Buffy is so intensely private in her feelings for Spike.

*flails* YES. THIS.
Awesome awesomeness is awesome. I loved all the coloring you used, and the voiceovers, and, Y'know, all of it. Excellent video making is not an easy task, but you have succeeded in droves.

This is gorgeous. I love the voiceover and the second at 1:59 where you see his face in "Touched" and he looks heartbroken. Which is not an emotion I associate with that scene, but it works so well in the vid as she's just turned her face away and he seem so uncertain about his place in her life and then, oh look, they're holding each other and she loves him!

This is amazing. There isn't really any more to say, other than that I loved every single second of it. Everything fitted, the voice-overs were fantastic and I absolutely love that concept, which was executed perfectly. I really felt like Buffy, like I was in her POV, and I usually have a hard time getting there. All effects were gorgeous and it just flowed so naturally. Stunning work.

Would you mind if I friended you? I've been admiring your vids for so long, and I'd really like to keep up with any future projects of yours. :)

Can I not be very original and say that I loved it? Looks like out of three gems you posted this one was the favourite of yours... and it shows (or maybe it wasn't THE favourite... but it's definitely the longest and requiring the most work... I dare to assume). I definitely need to watch it many times to grasp the narrative - it's always challenging to me when clips are out of chronological order... I'm obtuse that way - but it SPOKE to me. Oh, don't tell! It's fun to figure it out by myself.:)

I love the choice of scenes, moments, big ones and the small. And the voice-over! I'm not usually the fan of voice-overs in fanvids, they tend to make me lose the rhythm of the music, but you do them masterfully, choosing just the right places to put them and just the perfect words.

Thank you! I knew your day was worth waiting for :)

I love this vid - wonderful selection of images for your theme - the voice over works great and adds to the haunting quality of the piece.

"I always try to delve in deep when making a Spike/Buffy video, I try not to make it about just one emotion, I can make a happy vid, cause they have plenty happy/funny moments, but I just can't relate that emotion to them without including the pain/hurt/love/understanding that comes with the rest of their relationship."

This is the fundamental Spuffy Relationship and their transformation journey - it is for me anyway.
