*nods* It's a huge relief to me that they both get a little moment of truth at the end of the episode, because it's pretty bleak, existentially speaking, up to that point.

It is indeed - both of them feeling that there is nothing for them in the "real" world, seeking an answer. The comedy doesn't quite conceal it.
