I.
Juxtaposition—
Buffy gropes to find the truth;
Spike fondles a lie.
II.
Spars with the Slayer’s
robotic doppelganger,
works out his issues.
III.
Gadget likes to play;
what she lacks, she makes up in
enthusiasm.
IV.
Bot’s ecstatic chirps
helpless against you, you fiend!
music to his ears.
*V.
I want to let you
(gasp) bite me and devour me
until there’s no more!
VI.
Wants to be trusted
with her life’s blood, to be found
irresistible.
VII.
Jarred from fantasy—
[Beeeep. Start this program over?]
never be Buffy.
*Found haiku taken from episode.

How do you actually convey so much meaning in 17 syllables?

2009-05-08 02:23 (UTC)*lol* You don't wanna know! These things used to just pop into my brain without much effort (and sometimes still do if it's just one little moment), but now that I'm tackling whole episodes, it's gotten a lot more, uh, detail-oriented. I seem do a lot of the same kind of script and characater analysis stuff that I would do if I were going to direct something. So, prolly more than you wanted to know, but there it is! Between the haiku and the doll!fic, theatre geek me is a happy camper. :)

2009-05-06 02:52 (UTC)This is an incredible sequence, from the insightful first, to the reality blast last.

2009-05-08 03:08 (UTC)And yeah, stick around for Season Six, Mr. Man! It's gonna make playing patty-cake with the Bot look like an episode of Teletubbies.

Wow, way to condense the theme of the episode into one tiny haiku! Love this.

I want to let you
(gasp) bite me and devour me
until there’s no more!
VI.
Wants to be trusted

irresistible.

2009-05-08 07:03 (UTC)It is indeed - both of them feeling that there is nothing for them in the "real" world, seeking an answer. The comedy doesn't quite conceal it.

I know most folks have mentioned it before, but you hit the jugular here with cool precision. Awesome!
(VII is snerk-worthy!)
