So, this vid wasn't made specifically for Seasonal Spuffy but falls squarely into the category of "something I've been working on, but haven't posted". It's a Fandom Trumps Hate 2021 (!) gift for thewiggins . I recently finished it, but have waited until now with making it public. Huge thanks go to thewiggins for the vid idea and for their immense patience while I took my time working on the vid!


The vid is not a romantic Spuffy one, but the relationship between Buffy and Spike is quite central to it, so I think it should be OK to post it in Seasonal Spuffy. Completely accidentally, it also fits this round's theme pretty well (from Spike's perspective).

Well, you already know how much I love this video, but damn! I love this video!

I'm glad that you premiered it here on Seasonal Spuffy cause, as you said, the Spuffy relationship is very central to its theme. And I want as many people as possible to get to enjoy your wonderful work. :)

And I love the "No, Spike, it's gonna hurt a lot" at the end. So, so true.

Thanks! I definitely don't mind hearing more than once how much you love it ;-) I'll admit making it took some effort, but it was very satisfying in the end. It's great that you think it all works. And yeah, Buffy's final quote really sums it all up, doesn't it?

Wow. I never realized how many times Spike got thrown around! He's, like, constantly airborne. This is a terrific vid, and you did a fantastic job on the edits, as always. I think this one incorporates the most scenes of any vid you've done! A real tour de force. Thank you so much for sharing this.

"Constantly airborne", that's very well put, I love it! And when he's not, he's either being tied up or getting punched in the face :-) You're right that this is probably the most fast-paced vid, with the most clips, that I've done so far. Very happy to hear you like it!

I meant to wait until I had the time and brain to come up with some #deep comment, and then it kept not happening. This is very cool! The show sure does enjoy a good round of Kick the Spike (both physically and emotionally, and I like the clips you've chosen for both -- I think you've found some great ones that don't often get used in vids, like Buffy's wince when the organ falls on him and Randy's little sigh), and it's definitely part of his appeal. :) All those lightning-quick clip transitions must have taken a lot of work, they look very impressive! Fitting the Bot to "another you so I could love you more" is hilarious. :') Also, "my experiment is not getting us anywhere": SO true for Crush! Fabulous work. 💙

My initial association with the song was much darker, but in the end I think/I hope I managed to give it a slightly more cheerful "Spike gets kicked down, but gets up again" vibe. With many thanks to thewiggins for pushing me to do that! I have to admit I struggled a bit with some of the lyrics -- you know I'm a compulsive lyrics matcher -- but the "another you" and "failed experiment" ones were no-brainers, ha.

Ha ha, well if I remember correctly, the word they originally used was "fun", which of course could mean very different things for different people...! So I hope I didn't miss the ball on that one :-)
