Summary: this short Spike POV video is a tribute to two flavors of early Spuffy: best enemies in denial and Spike's feral gremlin era. The Spuffy ride wouldn't be nearly as fun without these humble beginnings and unhinged detours. :')


Notes: happy Seasonal Spuffy, everyone!! Sorry about overshooting midnight.
I made this in Kdenlive using the HD eps from hdbuffy.tumblr.com and roughly following marnanightingale's cutting and syncing tutorial.
Thank you to the ever-lovely thewiggins for beta-watching this on short notice and pointing out that I had unintentionally implied Buffy has 1 (one) friend.

That was fun! A great opener for this round. The timing of the clips goes really well with the music, and I'm impressed by how you managed (at short notice!) to squeeze in the maximum number of Buffy's friends and family at the "names of all your friends" line :-). And I love the Xander clip you picked for that part, very funny! The mannequin clip combined with the "locket of your hair" cracked me up too. But my favourite is probably the "everywhere" bit. The Initiative clip just fits so well there, in terms of content (Spike's rant about Buffy) as well as visually (his gesture matching the beat of the lyrics). I checked out the rest of the song and it's fun to think of alll the clips that could match them -- I can easily see how this could just as well have been a full-length vid.

Heh, I originally had Willow and Joyce for "all your friends", and Wiggins made the fair point that that's one friend and her mom. Giles was easy, but I was still hunting for a Xander clip right around midnight, I think, and being thwarted by the opening credits that fade in and out over Spike and Xander's amazing domestic bickering at the start of "Doomed".

Spike's rant about how the Slayer got some funding and created the Initiative is a thing of beauty. Season 4 gave us so much.

I did start planning a full-length vid, but with my various distractions and how long it took me to wrap my head around syncing clip transitions to the beat, this is all I had time for. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I love this vid so much! I think you did a great job matching the rhythm of the clips to the song.

And the song is such a funny / apt / slightly disturbing fit for Spike's feelings about Buffy prior to maybe late season 5.
