"Something Blue" in fourteen Moods

Notes: To get the ball rolling, I can share the Dreamwidth mood theme I'm suddenly working on. It's at the stage where it's only just functional. I hope to add, like, expansion packs later and maybe upgrade the whole thing to GIFs.


So, if someone wanted to set up the "Mood" option on their Dreamwidth journal/reading page so that it will add a (more or less) matching little "Something Blue" screencap to the post, I believe they could go here, enter a mood theme name such as Something Blue, and enter the below URLs (all sizes are 160 width, 90 height). And then save and use.

Wheee! :) Expansion packs are a necessity - some of the moods grouped under these ones don't work with these images at all.

I was thinking, after I expand it a bit, maybe it would be okay to set it as a temporary mood theme on seasonal-spuffy for the rest of this round? That would make it much easier for people to play with it - they wouldn't have to set it up themselves. I'm pretty sure I'm technically able to do that, but I don't want to mess with the design of the community without checking what you think.

I'm fine with it, I think it might be a nice addition. I think this is the first time (in recent memory) that somebody came up with a mood theme. If someone else comes up with one at a later date would you be open to changing it? (Although I'm sure it won't be for a while.) Making a mood theme is hard work I recently made my first one for buffy verse bingo and it took me forever to find caps to use.

And I just noticed that you posted a mood theme in, I think, the first round of Seasonal Spuffy? So you're one of my sources of inspiration. :D (I was snooping around the Other Art tag earlier and noticed there were some mood themes, but I didn't remember who'd made them.)

I did create one! But my site where I had them uploaded is long gone and the images lost. And awww...thanks! I had fun making one! There were fewer moods then, I think(?).

It's exciting to see you take on creating one! And love the idea of adding it to Seasonal Spuffy as the mood theme. :o)

Yeah, I used moods on LiveJournal, where I have a cute mood theme, but the default one on DW that I've been using is kinda nondescript (I think it might have looked better when screen resolutions were different). So I was like, time to change that, do I want to be a frog or a bat... oh wait.

And mood themes were a fairly popular format on Seasonal Spuffy in 2005. :D I guess I should credit those artists for inspiration at some point, actually.

Oh, I forgot this was the first part of the mood theme. I guess we made some of the same choices of images/clips from this episode :-) Well, those moments are pretty iconic, after all. Perfect for a mood theme!

Exactly, there are only so many ways to screencap/gif that bathtub scene, but it still needs doing!! :D Because how else would we constantly enjoy the memory of it.
