If you like Giles - summer_of_giles just opened signup for this year, and it will run in July. It works similarly to seasonal_spuffy - I believe we borrowed their concept way back in the mists of time.

buffyversetop5 is a rec community for all kinds of Whedonverse fanworks, and it runs in October. It has a fabulous rec archive.

That's all I can think of in the "active and great comms" category.

seeking_spike isn't what I'd active, but it can be used to try and track down fanworks you've seen in the past, e.g. if you know you've read a certain fic but you don't remember the title or author.

And - not a community, but there is the Sunnydale Herald Newsletter with links to new fandom content from various sites.

Hey, these are wonderful!! What a cool idea to make comics-verse art from other materials than the comics themselves. I love the vibrant colors and the pretty backgrounds (especially in the third banner, omg), and the text messages in the first one... basically, everything about these banners makes me happy. ^^

These are lovely! I especially like the last one. You did a great job on the manip that was originally Emma an JM but you changed it into a spuffy pic. It's a hard picture to manip and you did awesome with it!!

Oh no! I cannot take credit for the manip. I thought it was a real picture of them! It came up when I did a google search on pintrest. I'm not sure how to credit the person who originally did it. But thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Pintrest is tough because people just re-pin other people's post, so it is hard to tell where the original picture came from.

Don't beat yourself up for not knowing it was a manip, I have been around this fandom for a long time and I quite often see manips mistaken for real pictures.

I would put a disclaimer at the end of your post mentioning that it is a manip but you don't know the artist and asking if anyone knows the artist to let you know.

In the meantime, until I get permission to use the manip I will remove them and leave just the blue one up. :)

Thank you! It's a pity because the original version was gorgeous, but a good solution if the other artist didn't give permission.

In the comics their relationship was so refreshingly light, I thought bright colors would bring it out. Thank you!

Very fun! I definitely expected it to be using comic images, so I found this to be a nice surprise. I really like the backround with the Golden Gate Bridge coming out of the inkspot. Also very nice colors. :)
