Title: Buffy and the Dalek Slayers
Author: Miss Murchison
Rating: PG and only that for one vague joke
Word count: About 4000

Summary: This is a sequel to Who's the Doctor? and Where's the Doctor?, my previous BtVS/Doctor Who crossovers.

This one involves the Seventh Doctor and his companion Ace. Chapter One is here.

And that's all! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladyofthelog and [livejournal.com profile] snicfkic for keeping this comm going!

Buffy looked at the weird little stick the Doctor had given her. "Do you think this will really work?"

Spike leaned over her shoulder. "Only one way to tell."

"No, thanks. One Hellmouth opening a night is my quota." She hit a switch and the "screwdriver" made a whirring noise.

Spike snickered. "You know what it looks like…"

"Well, he did say it was for screwing. Speaking of which…" Buffy turned off the stick, dropped it into her jewelry box, and turned to deal with more urgent matters.

***

A few hours into their flight, the Doctor popped his head into Ace's room and sat down, watching her. "You're very busy. I should be getting busy myself, making a new sonic screwdriver to replace the one I adapted for that Slayer. "

Ace looked up from mixing a fresh batch of Nitro. "Why don't you, Professor?"

"I was just wondering about the sequence of events that just transpired. Ace, how did you get the TARDIS to come after us?"

"I didn't. I thought you called it." She transferred her attention back to the delicate task at hand.

He was leaning forward, hands on the handle of his umbrella as he watched her work. After a few minutes, he said, "That girl, Dawn. Did she act surprised when she saw inside?"

"Nah. She said, one other time you were in Sunnydale, she'd seen it." Ace wondered what would happen if she accidentally exploded the Nitro now. To the TARDIS, that was. She was pretty sure it could kill her here as easily as most other places in the universe.

"Oddly, I don't remember her ever going inside."

"Maybe you left the door open, Professor. Like you did today." Ace was more interested in the mucous attack that Dawn had hinted at. She'd nag the Professor to tell her that story as soon as she was done with her current task.

"Did I?"

"Yeah. Dawn just pushed it open." She beamed in satisfaction as she finished filling the first container. She always felt better when she knew she had something that could register a 9 on the Richter scale in her rucksack.

"Did she now?" the Doctor murmured.

When Ace looked up again, he had gone.

Superb finish to a wonderful story, or should I say, the latest installment in a series of stories. By a strange coincidence I had been watching "Remembrance of the Daleks" (I believe that was the title) before you posted the first chapter and was very pleased to experience this further adventure of the Seventh Doctor and Ace.

Considering all the raw material that has been produced by the classic series and the revival, the possibilities concerning Dawn and the TARDIS are limitless and, in some cases, terrifying. I do hope to read further explorations of all possible avenues or at least those that take your interest.

Ah, and you finish the story without explaining the "Hello Old Girl" thing. You're either very cruel, or just planning out your entry for seasonal spuffy spring, 2011...

I'm hoping for the later!

Just saw this in [livejournal.com profile] crossover_news, can't believe I've never seen any of these stories before. Enjoyed them immensely, anyway. Hope you'll do more with this setting!

That was enormous fun. McCoy is my least favourite Doctor, but you make him likeable, while the Dawn/Ace combo is awesome.

Spike's voice is perfect, and I really enjoyed the teamwork. And Dalek-eating hydra never gets old!

Me thinks I smell a sequel coming "does happy dance".

Nice one.

Terrific fun! Thank you so much for sharing with us!

The ending is intriguing - looks like there will be a sequel... won't it?

Do you plan to post the story on your site? I want to rec it, but posting nine links isn't very convenient.

Ooo! Ooo! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Love that closing exchange! I don't often have time to play in the LJ sandbox these days so what a delight to find this waiting for me today. I LOVE those doctor stories! (I was in the wrong country and had none of the right technology to see any of McCoy's Doctor the first time round but have always felt he was rather, well, starved for good writing. ... Like this!)

Thankyou!

I never saw the 7th Doctor. Sounds like they made him a bit more ruthless than I like, although I agree that Ace kicks ass.

You're weaving an interesting pattern here with both Dawn and Spike. I suspect we will see more of this universe and I'm certainly looking forward to it. :)

I love Buffy showing affection and concern in her gruff way and Spike befuddling the Doctor (especially this one) is an extra special bonus.

Marvellous again! This was great. I really enjoyed it. Daleks are my favourite Who villans.

Love it! Ace and Dawn to the rescue, armed with rocket launcher and explosives -- just what every teen yearns to do at some point!

Surely there must be another sequel sometime, now that Dawn has demonstrated the ability to control the TARDIS and the Doctor has figured that out?
