A Fairy Story with Photoshop Interruptions
Part 3 of 4

Rating: doubt if it's more than PG13 as it stands, though if you know what's going on in some of the caps used here it might be more.
Thanks: to
itmustbetuesday for this great community,
lillianmorgan and
elisi for encouragement, and
elisi for constructive criticism of the wallpapers. Everything else is my fault.
Disclaimer: unfortunately I don't own them. If I did I'd be away playing with them on a warm beach somewhere.
We left our Heroine (definitely) dead and our Hero (on a more upward path than previously) grief stricken.
Fortunately this is a fairy story, and though such things don't happen in real life, the Girl was resurrected by her friend the Witch and brought back to the life she'd partly sacrificed, partly fled from. You might think that this would be the happy ending to the Girl's story, but it wasn't. She had her life back, but no joy in it, and in her cold world only the Boy could reach her. Even dancing, which she had once loved, betrayed her, and she nearly burnt to death in a fire that consumed, but did not warm.

As this is a fairy story the Boy thought that kissing the Girl would wake her from her winter sleep and remove the splinter of ice from her frozen heart. He had some reason to think this, it had worked in other fairy stories, but it didn't in this one...so they had sex,

lots and lots of sex.

Time passed and the Girl felt bad because she was using the Boy and not truly feeling for him, and so she gave up the kissing and the sex and tried to go back to her normal life (which was not what we would actually call normal, but I digress). The Boy was shattered; I think he'd truly believed he was helping her (and he liked the sex) and was desperate to get her back. This led him once again almost to do a very foolish thing, a thing so foolish and so wrong, that he knew he must go on a quest (as heroes do in fairy stories) to regain the piece of himself that was missing (and how he lost it belongs to a different story, that I don't have time to tell).

2006-03-28 17:49 (UTC)Hee! Cute! :)
I really love the colors on the Dead Things wallpaper, and also the lyrics that you used on the banner.
I'm excited to see the last part! :)

::ducks and flees::
Although the fact that I am incapable of spelling kinda renders this pointless...

2006-03-28 18:12 (UTC)In the scene which the caps come from they are looking at each other so it's nice that it still feels that way. And it was the effect that I was hoping to get, but I think it's just luck that it worked.
And your telling of the story along with all of these is absolutely priceless!
Thanks. I normally steer well clear of writing, but I kind of felt I had to for this *g*. Thanks again for the lovely comment.

Btw, loving the graphics too. You chose your caps wisely.

You chose your caps wisely.
I discovered it was *all* in the cap choice *g*. I had to change them twice and that was not a fun experience! Many thanks for the comment.

2006-03-29 05:37 (UTC)This must have been so much work! What a lovely contribution. And I'm sorry that my FB is lame right now, my brain is not as function-y as it could be right now.

2006-03-29 10:18 (UTC)Don't worry at all about doing that. I like to know which ones people are taking just out of interest really.
And I'm sorry that my FB is lame right now, my brain is not as function-y as it could be right now.
Not lame at all (and my brain is almost completely non-functiony at the moment). Thanks for taking the time to comment.

2006-03-29 08:00 (UTC)I love all the layers you've made with the first wallpaper. I also like the contrast in style - the softness of the 2nd one, and yet the last two are sharp and strong in contrast and brightness.
All the icons are going in my back pocket (yaaaagaaaaah! need more icon space *g*)
As this is a fairy story the Boy thought that kissing the Girl would wake her from her winter sleep and remove the splinter of ice from her frozen heart.
Awwwww, what an atmospheric way of putting it. I feel just like I'm tucked up in bed and you're narrating it to me ;)
::sniffle:: Only one more to go...

Yes, it just worked out like that somehow. I think you notice more than I do *g*.
I feel just like I'm tucked up in bed and you're narrating it to me ;)
Oh good. That was the effect I was trying to go for. Comes from having worked so long in radio I suppose, but I *heard* the story when I was writing it. Thanks so much for the lovely feedback.
