One last Unbeta'd Drabble The story of how Spike discovered he was chip free.
Xander’s father had vomited in Buffy’s purse then he hit Spike. Spike hit back then all hell broke loose at the reception. Spike pulled back at the last second expecting the chip to fire or Tony would’ve been killed not simply knocked out.
Everyone thought at first that the chip had misfired and caused some kind of seizure. Spike just stood there frozen for what seemed like an eternity. “I'll leave,” he said.
“What! Why, and where would you want to go without me?” Buffy asked.
Spike was almost crying. “The leash broke.”
“William, you’re my equal not my pet.”

Too bad canon Buffy's views on this subject are indistinguishible from Illyria's.

2006-03-15 11:58 (UTC)The unlikable Tony Harris -- couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
And your last line. Ohhh, how I wish it had gone like this! The perfect end to the Wedding from Hell.

2006-03-15 16:57 (UTC)It wasn't until I read this that i realized I meant "rehearsal" and said "reception". It still works here but I meant for it to go with the Ganya drabble I wrote for LJS. I thought hearing Buffy say something like that to Spike would make Anya rethink think marrying Xander. {oh well.}
