Wow. That comment is so satisfying I think I might need a cigarette. ;-)

I'm really touched that you like everybody. I try to approach life from the perspective that people have good intentions — which doesn't keep conflict and strife from happening anyway. Why bother villainizing people, when we've already got enough trouble to be getting on with, you know? (This is why the Wood/Spike mini-arc is so wonderful to me. Nobody's wrong, nobody's right.) That this is something rare in stories is disturbing to me. Isn't it cheating to just create big lies like that? Shouldn't stories try to get at essential truths, instead? *shrug*

I'm so pleased that you are liking this! If it can pass the "local" test, I'm happy! I don't know if you know this about me, but I'm not much of a plotter. I want the characters to respond to other characters and their environment in a way that makes sense, rather than "this happened, then this happened, then this". This is the longest thing I've written, so I figured Our Fair City would provide lots of stuff for Buffy to react to! So far, so good!

That place in the Haight? It was for sale awhile back and I went to an open house. It's the one with the "Witch's Hat" tower. I had no idea that Rice had used it. Nifty! (I've only caught the last 20 minutes of the movie. Maybe I'm a bad person, but I thought Stuart Townsend made a yummy Lestat. Heh.)

I hope the rest of the tale is enjoyable for you. I guess I should finish up that next chapter...

Thanks so much for this, darling! It was the best present!
