What nice comments! Writing a souled Dru is a high-wire act. It can't "fix" her, but some change is inevitable. I'm glad the gentleness came across. I've written Dru with an affinity for animals before, but I can't figure out why I think she'd have one. (All we really know is she likes 'em, but is mortally neglectful of her pets.) There will be further developments with the soul, of course.
Hee! Have you heard of Colma! The Musical? Some local kids made an independent film musical about what it's like to live there and see San Francisco in the distance. (Their second film, Fruit Fly, is better, but Colma! The Musical has a certain ring to it...)
