Heh! You caught my little bit o' meta! There's so much disagreement among the fans, the writers, and the characters about the function of the soul, that I really wanted to force Buffy out of her comfort zone on the issue.
This isn't the RingOnIt!verse, obviously, but it's not S8 "Slayer Army" canon either. We may or may not see the greater Slayer Council in action. We might be able to deal with the threat with local resources... (Plot, why are you so elusive?)
I'm very pleased that you want more, and more there will be! I've got the next day, and part of the next night written. Also an epilogue, but that's a ways off. The action is supposed to take place over a week, but the days are just packed!
