I actually was headed there all along. I wanted to show what it would be like for Buffy to face (literally) her violence in a very direct way. But I only got through the set-up! Plus, it's from Spike's POV, and he couldn't care less about Buffy's tragically successful follow-through of her earlier attempt on Faith's life circa Graduation. Though it might be interesting to see if he gains any insight by spending time with someone who is really shaken by her crimes. Sequel, you say?
