Yay! Spike and Buffy trying to take care of each other is how I like them, too. It seems a little weird to me it took me ending the world to be able to write their relationship the way I want it, although ideally Buffy would be a lot less weary than she is here.
And yes, it's always seemed to me that under most circumstances, Spike would be the one who'd fall for the idea first.
