You know, reading your story I felt like I was transported back in 2002 when I started reading fics in English. I understood them, but I had to make an effort to understand. Reading fics in Russian was much easier; but I quickly read everything written in Russian and craved for more! So my romance with English-language fanfiction has started...
I loved your glimpse at Buffy and Spike circa Dirty Girls. Buffy's insecurities and jealousy "in advance" is bittersweet. I love that you stop exactly at the moment when the canonical scene is about to start.
