I noted how Buffy reached out to Dawn in her misery. Right! I'm so glad you picked up on that. We've seen Buffy battle (and repeatedly flounder) against depression before. So, while I wanted to convey how bad she was feeling, I also wanted to show that she's grown as a person enough to know that she should reach out to someone, as opposed to just wallowing in it.
