I was so bad at keeping up with seasonal_spuffy last time, and I admit to being guilty at times of only reading friends' fics, but DEAR LORD HOW DID MISS THIS? Definitely one of the most original and most satisfying Spuffy fics I've read. Loved the ambiguous ending, the amazingly well-rounded cast (there is nothing I love more than Spuffy with the whole supporting ensemble, and you rendered them brilliantly, especially Giles and Dawn), and the resilient and ever-hopeful Buffy. Man. It's really rare that I read a fic that evokes the same kind of heart-wrenching pathos that Whedon's work does, because it's so tempting to pull the punches in revisioning canon in the way you want it. This story gives us a world that's just as heartbreaking and nuanced as canon, so hats off to you!
(I totally read this while endlessly hitting ctrl + F5 on my flist. MORE PIE! Will it come to us on Free-For-All Day, or will you try to squeeze it in tonight? There's some leeway on posting times, so if you need to post in the AM, that's totally cool. /modhat)
