Fabulous start to this story *and* to Seasonal Spuffy!
Warren's jibes really cut Buffy to the bone and forced her to make some long-overdue realizations. While I'm glad she has opened her eyes a bit regarding her treatment of Spike, I can't help but note that upon facing the hard truth of her behavior, she immediately proceeds to ignore her promise to him to return to the crypt and get him out of hiding in favor of doing her "research" first! Our girl has a long way to go... Goes without saying that whatever she has planned will likely have unintended consequences as well.
300,000 words! Your commitment is astounding and I especially appreciate that you've unequivocally stated that it is complete and won't be a long-term WIP. I can't wait until Fall to read the rest and will be friending in order not to miss it.
