Wow, wow, wow! This was amazing! It's amazing as a stand alone -- but the ending also offers so much room for imagination/speculation. I love your Buffy voices!
I guess there's one part that I feel kind of divided about: when Older Buffy tells younger Buffy that she'd be okay with Spike and Drusilla together for the foreseeable future. On one hand, I think that it shows just how much Buffy loves Spike and regrets what she did and believes that underneath it all, he was a man, not a monster. On the other hand, S2 Spike and Drusilla killed many humans, and if they had continued, would kill many more. Certainly Buffy knows she can't kill all the vampires in the world, and so perhaps she figures that she can give these two a pass without compromising her calling as a slayer. But there's still something about the way that Buffy has always defended the defenseless against predators that would make this a hard choice for her, I think. I think that by not going after Spike and Drusilla, Buffy would be by default not doing her best to keep Sunnydale safe, and that is something that she might need to coax her younger self to be willing to do.
Sorry for such a long comment; I just wanted to say I loved it and thanks for sharing!
