I just startled the dogs and my husband by laughing loudly at this: “No, not at all. I was just preparing to go out and collect some eggs for breakfast.” Oh so droll. Oh so Giles. Yes he the farmer must be up before dawn cracks. Tee hee. (gotta remember that line next time someone calls at an ungodly hour).
Ditto with Buffy pulling Giles' chain with the one syllable word message...too funny all round. His burnt tongue talking was a hoot as well.
"Spike chuckled and decided he should warn Buffy to stay on top of the covers. There was no doubt in Spike’s mind that her childhood saying could prove to be true. Among other things, the Gran Torino Motor Court was probably filled to capacity with the itchy little buggers." Sadly I have actually stayed in places that made this a worry (fortunately unfounded). You learn that if it is the option it is best to sleep in your car LOL.
Spike is such a sweetie with Empress. Hope Buffy is REALLY noticing.
Geez I am loving this story! Hoping to finish it before I have to leave on a contract.....rushing to the next chapter.
