God, I love this fic! Perfect snarky Spike, perfect bitchy, bossy Buffy, and dialogue I'd give my eye teeth to have written!
It's a brief encounter, really, but you take us so deep into Spike's thoughts and feelings that it's incredibly satisfying. And I love the way you capture how Spike is just starting to get a ghost of a flicker of a hint that something is "not quite right" vis a vis how he feels about the the Slayer.
And then it occurred to me that Buffy isn't quite sure why she's there asking (forcing) Spike to help her, either. Yes, my pretties, it's not just a river in Egypt!
