I like this--the set-up, the way you show us how they are together, Spike's passive compliance, Buffy's thoughtlessness, which isn't malign but merely clueless. And I like that vampires freeze--I tend to think of them as impervious to cold but your idea is probably more sensible!
Also I have no idea where this will go because I don't remember anything about the source fairytale.
