Spike was my real friend. I could go hang out with him and he wouldn't act all weird because I was the pseudo-kid who just happened to be the mystical key that could destroy the world. He treated me like a person, and not a kid-person either.
I loved the way ME wrote the Spike/Dawn interaction in S5. I think you do a really good job in investigating Dawn's thoughts about Spike.
