UGH. I JUST LOVE YOUR WRITING SO MUCH. It's not just the stories you tell or the character insights (though I love those too, obviously), it's the way you put words together. I just love reading your sentences. Really delicious prose doesn't pop up a lot in fic, I feel like: we've got a lot of great storytellers, but I just like to read your writing no matter what you're writing about.
Anyway! Now that I've fangirled at you.
This felt very realistic. I love the little touch of him thinking she's dead because of the coldness of her hand contrasted with his fever. And the scene with Xander was great. Basically I love all of it, but THAT ENDING. Buffy just coming out and saying, "Be my guy." Of course. This is a Buffy who's lost the world; of course she won't have time to pussyfoot around.
