So, I've decided to post the more romantic vid I made, because my icons in the post up next? Not so much romantic...

Description: "I don't have a choice, but I still choose you"
Notes: The first time I heard this song, Spike and Buffy instantly popped into my head, however, the singers were singing the wrong parts as far as I thought gender applied to Spuffy. Then it kind of hit me that THAT makes perfect sense. Spike and Buffy and pretty gender swapped/neutral to me which is why this song fits so damn much. So the female vocalist is Spike POV and the male vocalist is Buffy.

Oh my god that is gorgeous. I love it. The lyrics really do fit them so perfectly, and I think the gender switch works well. The parts I liked best- or most stuck out to me- were the end and the juxtaposition of the "Dead Things" beating and the "Potential" hand-holding.

The Civil Wars have easily become one of my favorite bands of 2011. Every song is amazing! and not surprisingly a lot of their lyrics work for Buffy & Spike
For a Spike Playlist you should add Barton Hollow as well.

Oh, Anne. I already loved this song, so it shouldn't surprise me that you made this so perfectly.

First off, I loved the gender inversion. The dude singing is Buffy, the gal singing is Spike. This is how it goes. Second, EVERYTHING. And I loved the "your hands can heal // your hands can bruise" because yes yes yes. This song feels like it was made for them. Though truly, the tears started pouring out at "I don't have a choice // I still choose you" because yes, she always chooses him. And all the "I don't love you // I always will" is so so so so BUFFY AND SPIKE.

Thank you for this. It's gorgeous and beautiful and you made me ~feel~ and I adore you for that. ♥

Oh wow, this is really beautiful. The song is incredible, and so very them. The gender-bending is awesome too, because that's one of the thing I love most about them, and just, all the juxtapositions and comparisons in this is wonderful. I've done a lot a vids paralleling that 'intervention' scene with the 'showtime' scene, but until making this video I hadn't realized 'chosen' was yet another image I could match with those two, so I'm so happy it worked!

As everyone else has already commented the lyrics in this song were just perfect. And I loved the genderswapping - it felt really natural. I love how you mix clips so that everything feels brand new even when I've seen these moments a million times over.
