I looked up the two short fics, first, in order to get up to speed, and this one just blew me away. I am so very glad you're going to continue with this.
I can't help thinking of all the things that might've gone so much better for Buffy in season 4 if she had really had someone like un-chipped Spike firmly on her side and fighting at her side from the beginning (at least, I'm assuming she won't be hooking up with the Initiative this time around, or at least won't be as inclined to take them at face value, just at first, and so on).
