Oh, thanks for coming back to this! I'm with you, in a general way, about the baby-fic and wedding-fic (AND human!Spike-fic and lots of other kinds of fic), but I always seem drawn to the irritation, somehow, and eventually dive in and try to make it somehow palatable. Other people have managed it! I mean, mpreg isn't such a thrilling idea to me, but just look at what [livejournal.com profile] snickfic has accomplished with Seraph! [livejournal.com profile] rahirah goaded me into writing a Mary Sue fic, and now it's up for a couple of awards, so I'm starting to think this is becoming a pattern for me.

Anyway, I'm glad you think it works. I attribute that to adding in the real-world chaos of a wedding day, but even so it wouldn't fly without, as you say, that added fillip of maturity. Buffy's maturity, specifically. I'm not convinced that Spike has actually changed all that much. ;-}

I'm very pleased you enjoyed the silliness. Slayers and vampires: Joss showed us that there's comedy gold in them thar hills!
