As a rule, I'm usually just not interested in shanshu!Spike stories

I certainly wasn't interested in writing one, because I've read some really great ones, and didn't see any reason to go there; because why retread? And I really like vampire!Spike. I only ended With This Ring that way because I was out of time and needed a punchline. *is embarrassed*

However, I got some comments to the story on some of the archives that got me thinking about amusing ways that Spike might adjust to being human once he'd got over the disappointment. He likes being a vampire as much as I like him to be one. But, he's also a really flexible and resilient guy, and I felt sure he'd take full advantage of his new humanity (while complaining loudly about the disadvantages). Nude sunbathing and impregnating Buffy topped the list, with rock climbing and bicycle racing coming next (he's got lots of excess energy and he's loves a challenge). Baiting the pouf is an activity open to both vampires and humans, so I doubt he'd cut back on that. Heh. I also have this whole backstory in my head about how he became a slayer boy, but there's a little glitch *cough*angel*cough* that I have to resolve before it can be seen in public.

There's also this compulsion to write exactly the thing I say I'm not interested in writing. (See comment to [livejournal.com profile] rahirah, above.) You wouldn't know anything about that, would you? Must be a Sept. 25th thing. ;-)

It's a myth that weddings are for the couple. It's for everybody else. It's to make your parents, grandparents, maid of honor and the government acknowledge what is already a reality. So, yeah, while the Spuffy is all very nice (Mmmmmm, Spuffy!), the background characters are the real players, in a lot of ways. So I'm really glad you enjoyed the Spike&Dawn prank and dear Harmony! And, Junior, who is the real impetus for the whole nutty affair.
