I've found one style of sneakers that is reliably comfortable, and I've been known to buy three pairs at once when there's a "Buy two, get one free" promotion at the Reebok outlet store. When one pair gets old and ugly, it gets demoted to gardening shoes and I pull an identical pair out of the box.
