He still couldn’t believe all that passion and easy camaraderie sprang whole cloth from a witch’s imagination. It had seemed like coming home, like a key in the proper lock. It had seemed right. He knew in his head that it was several kinds of wrong, of course but he couldn’t seem to get his heart to believe it. He felt out of synch with reality, which made no sense, as it was the spell that was outside reality.

I really like the description here: simple yet evocative. Plus my heart's sort of twisting for poor unloved Spike.

Also love how Spike spends his time during Hush. Heh. It wasn't like he got anything to do in the episode anyway.

And this image cracks me up: Buffy put a hand on his arm. He threw it off and grabbed her around the waist and pulled her in for a fangy kiss. She pushed him away, spluttering and pulling a face while he spun and laughed.

It's hard not to love joyful Spike.
