Hee! You know me; just can't manage to write straight angst, no matter what is going on, without some wackiness coming through. And I thought that song would be appropriate for a dream sequence in which Spike is trying to tell her where he was, and what is coming. So glad it worked for you.

Me, too. That's exactly what happened: They brought her back and practically slapped the stake in her hand as they raced off to their own interrupted lives! And no one (except Spike, of course) even noticed how damaged she was. I just thought Buffy should realize that, too.
