That's true! I hadn't made that connection. In that case it was really more about how Spike wasn't having preteen dating experiences circa 1990. But yeah, they're gonna have cultural disconnects.

I wonder why it comes up less with Spike and Buffy? Perhaps because Spike's a sort of perpetual adolescent (pre-soul); perhaps because, pre-soul, they had so many more pressing cultural differences. ;)
