It's a very interesting AU (*modest*) - I may come back to it at some point for some other POVs on those months post-Becoming. Spike may be a deep-dyed romantic, but he's exceedingly pragmatic in the end - and really, who wants to fade to oblivion, even in the cause of a better world?
