I enjoy the story enormously.

As a person who lived in a totalitarian society the first half of my life, I can say that you have caught the spirit of life there. Yes, there was a lot of "unidentified slobs" and even occasional "feral humans" in Soviet Russia. Although our vamps and demons were only metaphorical :)
